I had the good fortune to encounter these paintings by Tom Björklund when i was visiting the Natural History Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark on my trip to Copenhagen.
The entire museum is fantastic, but a few things stood out to me.
Notably I encountered the naturalistic, humanistic paintings of far removed human ancestors and of other human species. Seeing a neandertal or denisovan as what it very much likely was - human enough, struck me deeply.
I messaged him on Instagram to see if he had prints - but he does not as of yet.
